Learning about the weather- te rangi.







This week the Tosswill centre have been thinking of "I wonder" questions about the weather and completing weather based activities. We have made rainbows, made binoculars to check the weather,  played with tornadoes in bottles, painted weather pictures, watched weather songs and written our own weather report.

Circus activities.

This week in the afternoon programme  we have been looking at activities related to the circus. We have made clown faces, drawn clown faces, dressed up as clowns, tried juggling and watched Circuses on you tube. We have also played with hoops in the afternoon sun, we tried hula hooping, rolling them and spinning them.

Friday Morning Assembly



 Every Friday at 9 O'clock we go to the Muratai centre for either Assembly or Music and Movement. Parents are welcome to attend. This week it was Tyler and Mason's turn to get certificates.  Well done.

Dinosaur week

This week we have been looking at Dinosaurs and trying new activities based around dinosaurs. We have made playdough dinosaurs, painted a scene for some coloured in dinosaurs, build duplo homes for dinosaurs, dug in the sandpit for fossils and made sand volcanoes, completed dinosaur puzzles, read dinosaur books, watched "Walking with Dinosaurs", and danced to dinosaur songs.

Machines week

For the last week of term 2 we have been looking at Machines.  In our afternoon programme we made pulleys, put together marble runs, took apart appliances with screw drivers, used rollers to move furniture, read books and watched you tube clips about machines.

Pirate themed afternoon programme.

We have been exploring all things pirate related.  We've made pirate hats, drawn pictures of pirates, made pirate ships, walked the plank, dug for treasure and pretended we were on a pirate ship.

Kiwiana barbecue.

We have been looking at all things Kiwiana, so this week we had  a barbecue with our whanau. We also drew Korus, danced to kiwi music, did some weaving, read New Zealand picture books, played rugby and had a go with some of our PMP equipment.  Thank you to all the parents who came and joined in with the fun.
